November is National Alzheimer Awareness Month.

We are sponsoring with an amazing local charity called:

Alzheimer's Association

Hudson Valley Chapter

Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia:

Alzheimer’s is not normal aging; it’s a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Join us to learn about: The impact of Alzheimer’s, the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, Alzheimer’s disease stages and risk factors, current research, treatments available to address some symptoms and Alzheimer’s Association resources.

Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body: Tips from the Latest Research

At any age, there are lifestyle habits we can adopt to help maintain or even potentially improve our health. These habits may also help to keep our brains healthy as we age and possibly delay the onset of cognitive decline. This workshop covers four areas of lifestyle habits associated with healthy aging: Cognitive activity, exercise, diet/nutrition and social engagement. In each area, we will discuss what we know, drawing on current research, as well as what we can do — steps to take now to improve or maintain overall health in each area.

Mission: The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.  Among the programs The Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter offers is a Healthy Living Program. It provides the following educational programs to the community free of charge.

This group offers:

  • Care Consultations
